  • Overview

    The human resource generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated geographic locations. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, affirmative action and employment law compliance.

     

    Responsible for coordinating implementation of services, policies and programs for employees; assist and advise employees and managers about employment issues. Work independently and display a high level of independent discretion in managing human resource initiatives. Manages Human Resource programs for assigned segments of the company.

     

    This position will support the Boston, Houston, UK and Australia employees.

    Responsibilities

    • Take an active role in understanding the business and employee issues in the US, UK, and Aus. 
    • Assist in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures and employee handbook.
    • Participate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
    • Assist in the administration of the merit, bonus and incentive compensation program; monitors the talent management program and revises as necessary.
    • Conduct new-employee orientations; 60 Day Check-in, monitors employee career-pathing and training and development programs.
    • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding. 
    • Partner with management regarding employee relations and counseling.
    • Maintain company organization charts and assists in the maintenance of the IT directory.
    • Maintain human resource information system (HRIS) records and compile/analyze reports.
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws/regulations.
    • Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment as required and communicating benefits information to employees.
    • Process unemployment claims and assist in appeals when needed.
    • Assist in the administration of affirmative action program; files EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
    • Ensure that HR policies and processes are consistently administered both in the department and companywide.
    • Investigate and address employee relations issues as needed.
    • Resource to departmental and cross-functional peers and managers to provide support with training programs.
    • Record and manage employee information such as, but not limited to, personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, and termination information.
    • Clearly present information and prepare/analyze reports for management.
    • Performs and manages project work, ie. Employee recognition and wellness programs.
    • Attend trainings and seminars to stay current on Human Resources laws, legislation, and trends.
    • Display honest, trustworthy and ethical behavior when dealing with internal and external customers.
    • Assist in other HR related duties and areas as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.
    • Knowledgeable of local, state, and federal employment law and regulations.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative and changing environment.
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate, collaborate, and lead.
    • Highly organized with a record of prioritizing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
    • Strong computer skills including knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and ADP and iCIMS platform a plus.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, enjoy and create a team environment.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related business degree or equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
    • Two to four years progressive Human Resources experience required and a fundamental knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices and procedures typically gained through 3+ years applicable Human Resources experience.
    • PHR/SPHR highly desirable
